Crystal was invaluable the day of our wedding. She highly exceeded our expectations. Our wedding was over a year ago and friends and family are still asking me who my photographer was! She showed up the morning of exactly when I asked her to. She had not one question for me as the bride, and took the most amazing candid pictures of me and my bridesmaids getting ready. She is artistic and original, with every shoot (first look, bridal party, family) she had ideas for the setting. This was extremely helpful and made it so I didn't have to think or worry about anything the day of my wedding! One thing about Crystal I will remember for my whole life is how she memorized the name of everyone in our bridal party. Who does that?!! It was AMAZING!!!! Instead of "hey you, the one in the uhh... pink dress.. no the other pink dress" she knew everyone's name. This made pictures go SO FAST! Crystal commanded attention with just her presence. She is confident, hysterical, and ultra creative. She takes risks and nails them. Our wedding wouldn't have been the same without her, we are so extremely thankful!!

When I got engaged three years ago, the first thing I told my future husband was that my biggest priority for our wedding was hiring Crystal Madsen. My first Crystal Madsen experience was at the studio downtown for my professional photo shoot for work. I was a bit nervous at first, and it wasn't long before you were able to break down my barriers and help me relax and have some fun. You were so accommodating and great to work with. after seeing how amazing all of the pictures turned out I knew I would be coming back for family pictures as well. The mini Mothers Day shoot photos are something I will cherish always!!! You were able to capture my daughter sass, while also capturing her goofy and funny personality. I hold them so near and dear to my heart, and smile anytime I see one of the pictures from that very special day. In a 30 minute photo shoot you were able to capture what feels like a years worth of memories to me. I am beyond thankful and blessed to have them!!!

When you marry the love of your life, after planing for months for a special day you hope to go off without a hitch, visualizing how it's supposed to be, and having huge expectations of perfection; you hope to possibly relive that day from time to time. And I can honestly say that having a photographer that captured every single important moment of our day, with glamour, playfulness, sexy, and most importantly 'crazy in love' was above and beyond the best decision (besides marrying my wife) that I made that day. I look back at my pictures and it's as if I am replaying the entire day of events. Crystal Madsen made our day beyond amazing. She is more than just a photographer. She is coordinator, a counselor, a comedian. Pretty much anything you need on your day she will bust her butt making sure you get it. It was comforting having that interaction with a photographer that is going to be with you all day, on one of the most important days of your life. Now to talk about her artistic work, well look at her profile it speaks volumes but truthfully it's amazing. She sees shots no one else can see, in surroundings that are unique and original. Being new to the area and pregnant, we were faced with finding a photographer that was available to take maternity photos of my husband and I. From the moment we first contacted Crystal, we knew we found the right photographer! She was incredibly easy to contact and answered all of our many questions promptly and honestly. The photo shoot was quick and painless, as we are not the most comfortable in front of the camera.....but Crystal made it so easy and fun for us! Crystal provided photography services for our wedding at the family church and then our reception at the Barrister winery. Crystal was eager to accommodate our special requests for engagement pictures, and was good at communicating with us leading up to the big day. Perhaps not overly common for the groom to write these review, I wanted to acknowledge her professionalism and patience during our wedding and reception as I can a difficult client to handle. She did a great job, and the photos look fantastic. Crystal is passionate about what she does and it is obvious that the satisfaction of her clients is very important to her. Our pictures came with very personalized packaging, and the overall presentation was top notch. We were also impressed with the amount of photos we got. It is also worth mentioning that she provided a second (intern) photographer to us all day at no extra cost. We did a fair bit of research on photographers in the Spokane area and I would say now that it is done, we got a lot of bang for our buck. Good Job Crystal.

My husband and I are so happy we booked Crystal as our wedding photographer. Not only is she highly talented, but also is easy-going and fun loving! We were blown away with the quality of the photos she took while we were having a great time! Our family and friends have commented over and over again at what an amazing job she did before, during, and after our wedding day! Crystal is amazing! Honestly, the beauty and quality of her photography are only one part of having her as your photographer. She became a member of our bridal party and because she does so many weddings, she knew the questions to ask that I wasn't asking. This helped make sure that everything went smoothly the day of the wedding. She doesn't limit herself to only worrying about your photography. When going over our wedding day schedule, she felt our site coordinator was giving too much time for people to eat. So, she mentioned it and sure enough, the coordinator agreed she had made a mix-up in the schedule. I never would have thought to ask if 1 hour of "eating" time was too much, but Crystal knew right away when she looked at the schedule. This just shows that when you work with her, her concern is helping make sure you have the day of your dreams.

That said, her true and prime goal is to capture your special day just as you want it. She asks questions I never dreamed of answering, all geared toward helping her capture our wedding day in the style we wanted. She included an engagement session to help us get comfortable in front of the camera. This was so helpful because neither of us LOVE having our photos taken. It put us more at ease with ourselves and her on our wedding day.

As far as her photography--she does a phenomenal job! There is a reason she is booked almost every weekend of the year--she is AMAZING and by booking her you get more than just a photographer. We have used Crystal from our Christmas cards, to our family photos, and just recent our maternity shoot and couldn't be more pleased with her final product. We knew going into planning our wedding that there were two things that we just had to choose right in order to have a successful wedding with forever lasting memories. They were the photographer and the DJ. We were spot on with both of our choices. A close friend recommended Crystal to Taylor and she was with us literally from day one. She helped Taylor set up his surprise proposal and photographed the whole thing. Once we saw the quality of her work we knew that she was the photographer for us.

I also went through Crystal for a Boudoir shoot as a wedding gift for my husband. I was BEYOND pleased with the time Crystal took with me and the pictures turned out gorgeous. My husband absolutely loved the photo book that Crystal put together for him.

We met with Crystal multiple times before the wedding and discussed every little detail as Crystal wanted to know what to expect so she could be ready for all of the photo ops. I was that bride that wanted a whole bunch of specific pictures to be taken on the wedding day. As all brides know the day of your wedding is extremely crazy and you have so much going on that it is hard to remember every little thing that you are supposed to say or do. I was so thankful that Crystal remembered the pictures I wanted and got them all. She even surprised me with all of the detail shots she took while all of us girls were getting ready, they were all perfect.

It is one thing to hire a photographer but its another thing to hire a photographer who cares. Crystal talked to us through the whole wedding planning process, gave us helpful insight, tips and ideas. She cared about us and making our day successful. She went to the extent of standing out in the freezing December snow snapping pictures for 2 hours. Crystal had her husband assist her at our wedding and not only did they make a great team but they were so much fun and got along great with everyone.

We absolutely LOVE Crystal and consider her 'our' photographer. As long as she keeps taking pictures we will keep having her take our pictures. We are excited to have her capture our growing family in the time to come!

One of the most important aspects of our wedding was the photographer and the pictures that we would have to look back on for the rest of our lives. I put a lot of time and effort into finding the perfect person to capture this important day for us! I found Crystal through a friend who got married the summer before me. I had already interviewed a few photographers before meeting with Crystal and was having a hard time deciding who to choose because I really liked them all. After meeting with Crystal though I couldn't imagine going with anyone else, she seemed very interested in all the aspects of my wedding and what decisions we had already made. Through the engagement and wedding I feel like Crystal was more than a photographer, she was almost like another wedding coordinator. She is so professional and organized that the whole day just seemed to go so smoothly. Every one in our wedding party and even some guests that attended commented on how fun Crystal was. When we got our disk of wedding photos I was just in love with all of our photos, she is so talented!!! Crystal was able to capture every moment perfectly!!! Thank you Crystal! From the beginning, I loved Crystal's over all personality and presence! She chose me as one of her high school senior models which was an honor. Compared to other photographers' prices, Crystals were reasonable! I did three different sessions with her and they were all a blast! I absolutely loved how my pictures turned out so natural. She made them seem so professional yet not extremely edited. I felt confident that my pictures would turn out great :) During the photo sessions Crystal didn't mind walking miles around the town, or moving all her equipment across a beach! She offered a lot of flexibility and it was obvious that she put so much heart and effort into each one of her pictures.Time flew by while taking pictures because we had so much fun! Although there were times where there were misunderstandings, in the end I will always look back and be so thankful that I chose to do my pictures with Crystal! She truly does capture the perfect moment that will continue to be an amazing memory!

What amazes me the most about what she does is how she makes you feel. She is very natural and comfortable when she is taking pictures and the best thing is that she is able to translate that feeling over to you. I am not a big fan of people taking pictures of me and never have been but Crystal is so good at putting you at ease that she brings out the best in you.

I have followed what she does for a while and I am always amazed at the quality of her pictures. There is emotion, depth, feel, and a quality that you just do not find in so many other places. She is great at getting the set up, posed, traditional shots but she also does a fantastic job of capturing the candid moments in life too. Thankful for her efforts and her talents!

In 2010 I had Crystal take my Maternity pictures and once my daughter arrived she did our Newborn photos. They are truly beautiful!
