If you’ve been meaning to update your family photos—or you’ve got a high school senior who still needs pictures—this weekend is your chance.
I’m offering a handful of Summer Mini Session spots at two of my favorite Spokane locations, each with a completely different feel.
Friday, June 26 – Plante’s Ferry Park

If you love timeless, classic portraits, Plante’s Ferry is hard to beat. Deep green trees, a beautiful wooden footbridge, river views, and soft evening light create the perfect backdrop for family photos, children’s portraits, and senior pictures. The location photographs beautifully year after year and has a calm, natural feel that never goes out of style.
Saturday, June 27 – People’s Park

People’s Park brings a little more adventure. Think tall grasses, overgrown fields, fallen trees, and that perfectly imperfect Spokane summer vibe. This location is ideal for families who love movement, personality, and images that feel a little less posed and a lot more real.
The best part? These sessions are only 20 minutes long.
As a mom myself, I know the thought of coordinating outfits, wrangling kids, and committing to a full portrait session can feel overwhelming. Mini sessions are designed to be quick, easy, and fun. We keep things moving so kids stay engaged, parents stay sane, and everyone leaves feeling like it wasn’t nearly as painful as they expected.
They’re also a fantastic option for high school seniors who want a handful of updated images without committing to a full senior experience.
At Crystal Madsen Photography, we don’t do stiff smiles or awkward posing. We create images that feel natural, connected, and genuinely like your family.
Summer in Spokane is short. The deep greens, wild grasses, warm evenings, and golden light we’re seeing right now won’t last forever.
If you’ve been putting off family photos, now’s the time!
A few spots remain for both Friday and Saturday, and once they’re gone, they’re gone. I would love to see your family in front of my camera this weekend.
