My team and I recently attended the most beautiful spring wedding of Eleacia and Josh at their family farm under a canopy of blooming cherry trees. It was truly a magical day with the moody skies, lush green grass, all of the loved ones in attendance, and so many special details. Eleacia had dreamed of getting married in the family cherry orchard with the blossoms in bloom since she was a small child. A week earlier or a week later and we would have missed it…but her timing was just right. This dreamy orchard wedding was simply breathtaking and it was such an honor to be trusted to capture their special day!
We started with the bride and groom under the most gorgeous weeping cherry tree with the first look. Can’t you just hear and feel their laughter? This is a theme that continued throughout the day with so much joy and love exuding from them and surrounding them! We continued to explore the property and captured images of them in front of a vintage vehicle, dancing in lush green alfalfa fields, and of course down by the pond. The water like glass reflecting a mirror image of the couple with stormy skies over the tree line behind them. So dreamy!
On the way back up to the orchard Eleacia shared that she was wearing her grandmother’s pearl earrings and pink sapphire ring. She would later during the reception wear her grandmother’s fur shall. Other special touches were also evident with the beautiful wildflower bouquets, boutonnieres, and the hand made alter which would also make an appearance at the reception later on. I’m getting ahead of myself here, but as long as we’re talking about the reception, I loved the bright “The Wallgren’s” neon sign and photo backdrop area.
The ceremony was charming with the blanket of cherry blossoms above and the sound of live music to welcome the bridal party. The skies were dark and cloudy but we didn’t see one raindrop the entire day. Afterwards we returned for the reception and were greeted by so much food! Complete with a baked potato bar and delicate home made pies. We stole the newly married couple for a few last sundown portraits to close out the session. Such a great spring wedding to kick off the season!
