Spokane Youth Baseball Team Competes in Cooperstown

My son’s team, Spokane Musketeers Baseball, came to Cooperstown Dreams Park this week for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. They have been looking forward to this tournament for two years.

We battled stomach bugs, fog and intense rain but made it through!

They showed up making a name for themselves by going 5-1 in pool play and hitting 8 home runs (one being a grand slam). Everyone showed up to play, and every athlete showed true love and respect for the game.

Bracket play was single-elimination, which they lost last night earning a record of 5-2. The character we witnessed out of these young men was uplifting and made a mama proud. Watching these boys cheer for each other, choosing to stay and bond over heading out with parents, and helping a fellow competitor when they learned his trading pins were stolen filled our hearts.

All the tears were shed by parents, coaches and players.

Great job boys. Great job coaches. Great job parents. This was a trip that will never be forgotten by any of us.
